Perhaps it was the disjointed nature of the film and its constant switches in the characters it focuses on rather than just Brody's substitute teacher which helped me overlook come of the more cliché moments. I appreciate what Kaye was trying to go for, but I found so much of it awful. The teen prostitute was such a cliche (although I liked the performance), I didn't understand if Marcia Gay Harden was supposed to be admired or hated (because the movie seems to want you on her side, but she's clearly an awful principal), and the narration was painful. Also, when was it supposed to take place? Why did Brody have an answering machine? deadlydollshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06061028044836745499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3565243314006487322.post-88591006890929324172013-07-02T03:16:36.871-07:002013-07-02T03:16:36.871-07:00It's a shame that this film hasn't been mo...It's a shame that this film hasn't been more recognised, especially considering the popularity of "American History X" but will no doubt be one which gets discovered further down the line, even as like you said the message is alittle confused.Elwood Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09661750406352159996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3565243314006487322.post-92004456611291241682013-07-01T11:23:21.992-07:002013-07-01T11:23:21.992-07:00Good review Elwood. Maybe that was just Kaye trying to see what he wanted in the end and didn't.Dan O.http://www.dtmmr.comnoreply@blogger.com
